A world-round trip is not a journey. It is rather a thousand trips and at least as many adventures. Trying to plan two years to the smallest detail is of course a total impossibility. Therefore, we opted instead to plan for the unplanned.
We know from experience that we can not plan too much detail before. We think that the fact could be a little flexible might choose a different path than the one we originally imagined. In addition, much happen in the meantime, breakdowns, long waits at borders, etc. and then you can be just stressed out and disappointed if it was for detailed planning. We prefer to make a rough plan and then we solve the rest en route.
Absolute musts
It is incredibly important is that you have insurance, carnet de passage and international driving license. Customs duties and other government officials must be addressed when you happen on it. One should never assume that it goes fast and it would do so as it is a bonus.

Visas
When we started planning before the trip, we thought we had to arrange visas for most countries before the trip. But the closer to departure we arrived we realized that we can not arrange a visa in advance. Before this trip, we have only been able to arrange a visa for Russia and China in advance, the rest may be arranged during the project.

Clothing
We have tried to figure out what we need with us by going back to our previous trips. What we have learned over the years is that the clothes you can never get enough of, that you have always too much and will not use everything. On this trip we will not have too much clothes, but we will buy the hand that we need.

Spare Parts
We have received substantial assistance from the mechanic at the Gert's Motor Ängelholm and he has helped Kjell to reach a reasonable level of spare parts and tools we need. We have about 10 kg and tools with us which includes all fixed keys and bits that we may need to be tinkering with bikes. We have a self-made tools for changing tubeless tires, and we have the parts most likely to break. We have among other things, extra chain and gears, wheel bearings, electronic components, additional link handle.
Other gasket
This includes, among other things, a water filter, katadyn, to be able to clean 35 000 liters of impure water to fully potable water without bacteria and micro-organisms, water cans, two showers, medical stuff that suturtråd, various ointments, penicillin, painkillers and alkoholgel mm.
We have sygrejor, repair stuff for both motorcycles and other equipment. Miracle cloths, dish, laundry and clothes line clips. Extra rubber band to the tent pins, Velcro, fastening pins and extra buttons. We have two multi Trangia stove burner so that we can burn everything from T-red for gas and vodka.
In food, we take with us, bouillon cubes, a little dried soups and spices. The rest, we are acting in markets and shops.
We have a small portable computer, LG and HTC phone that doubles as a computer

Motorcycles
Karin and Kjell was driving his BMW. Kjell has a 1200 GS Adventure, and Karin run an F650 GS with a 800 Twin engine. Kjell's Adventure is pretty original except that he has a low seat and a home made splash guard in front of the engine and the drawers.
Karin's motorcycle is lowered with a new shock absorbers and low saddle and the fork legs is promoted by 3 cm. Kjell has built himself up box, rollbar and splash protection for the engine, auxiliary rear sets, attached to toppbox, sat on scottoiler which is an automatic chain lubrication. Kjell has also built plexiglass protection for the lamp and grating over the radiator.
Hazards on the road
Dangers during the journey may be many. We tend to be cautious and travel in principle, never at night or when we feel we are not safe. We try to help each other in traffic and be alert to danger by communicating with each other, either by comradion or through gestures and signals. We always try to find the best accommodation options as we can. To have many locks, including larmlås is sälvklart. Equally important is to keep a low profile and never display that we have money or other theft-prone items. We are hiding money in different places and we always have with us a "fake" wallet that we can surrender ourselves if we are robbed.
