Morning on Lighthouscamping in Exmouth (S21 48 536 E114 6953). I sit and work at the computer and Kjell doing my automatic lubrication of the chain.

Exmouth4

A small Emu and a film Kjell ...

-Look there goes one Emu, said Rich, and when I look up there is an Emu about 2 feet from where I sit. It goes up and down the gravel in front of our tent, stop and look at me and turns away and goes to Kjell again. It is in no hurry so we have time to get both camera and video before walking away to camp again. Some of the children from the camp after the running to take pictures ...

Exmouth is a small, small place situated on a small peninsula on the western side of Australia. We found an empty seat on "The Lighthouse Camp" a little north of Exmouth. There are some beaches that are beautiful and you, if the temperature permits, can swim at. We stayed two nights and did some maintenance and worked a bit.

Exmouth3

The lighthouse at the cape to the north of Exmouth ...

We drove up at the lighthouse, a natural vantage point over the headland and watched. At this cape you often see whales and when we stood there and looked, we saw several whales at sea, which blew large cascades of water when they came up to breathe. Up here, we had the reception to the PC so that we could call home and congratulate the mother. CONGRATULATIONS Aina, birthday ...

Exmouth1

Kjell calling mother. - Aina Hello and congratulations on the birthday ...

It is little wonder that the art you can drive up on a desolate lighthouse located and with the help of the motorcycle and power your computer, phone home to Sweden and talk to the family. A real luxury.

Broome ...

A small town on the west coast of Australia. They usually say that this is where the white sand and the red cliffs meet the turquoise waters, where the sky meets the land in a desert meets the sea ...

GantheaumePoint

On Cable Beach's southernmost tip is Gantheaume Point with its magnificent red cliffs surrounded the turquoise sea. At extreme low tide you can see 130 million years old stone dinosaurfotspår.i

Footprints in the rocks ...

Founded in 1800, largely due to the pärlfisket in the sea. In the early 1900's came 80% of the world's pearl from Broome. Most of these articles were used throughout the world. Even today in Broome pärlfisket the biggest industry here, and there are plenty of shops selling pearls or pearl things.

Beads, beads ...

Once a month you can see the Staircase to the Moon, a phenomenon that takes place between Karratha and Derby two days after each full moon between March and October. stairway to the moon is created when the moonlight reflected in the wavy sandy bottom at low tide.

Broome is 2433 km north of Perth, so it will take a few days for us to drive there. Right now it's cold here in Broome, today we only had about 22 degrees and drizzle all day. Kjell took the opportunity to change the oil and filter on our bikes as the weather was not so good today. He had to borrow guard shack to be master mechanic and got in. He even borrowed his little fyrhjulstraktor to run and capture the oil filter which he forgot the tent.

fyrhjuling

If it continues to rain tomorrow, we probably stay here at camp one day before we start to drive south to Perth ...

Viruses ... not fun ...

Unfortunately, we have a virus in each computer, and right now we're sitting at a computer store in Tennant Creek and hopefully they can fix the computer was on, otherwise it will be to either buy a new or at least a new hard disk. Why are there those that spread viruses and understand for second ?????

In any event, the last days we have had good driving the vehicle across Australia and now we are told that in Tennant Creek which is located about 500 km north of Alice Springs. It s to Alice Springs we shall Farsta but we must bring order to your computer.

So ... today there will be no pictures but it will again.

Far from home ...

Beautiful is beautiful ...

lake Tekapo
Lake Tekapo ...

As we drive along the straight roads in the valleys, it is clean and clear enjoyment. Cows and sheep graze on meadows and in the air hovering birds of prey and look for dead animals along the roadside. There are a lot of run over animals on the roads so they have ample food.

Mt Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand ...

We drove out to the mountain and drove alongside Lake Pukaki a long time and it just became finer and finer the more we rounded curves.
turkos sjö
The lake is turquoise and it is because it is rich in some sort of minerals and the melt water from glaciers at Mt Cook, which supplies the lake with water.

A happy and cheerful Kjell ...

Today's event was in any case we went out to the helicopter and around Mt Cook, stayed atop a glacier in the valley and went and looked at the Tasman River, which flows into Lake Pukaki. A fantastic round ... It took about 45 minutes to go around and we got to see Mt Cook but the whole cloud, wow ...

Mountains and river at Mt Cook ...
After this adventure we went over the Lindis pass and down to Cromwell where we stopped at a campsite and tried to tidy up all the impressions from today's flight and the incredible nature around here.

Fairytale Landscape ...

Mountains and valleys here in the middle of the South Island is more beautiful than beautiful. It is understandable that those who filmed "Lord of the Rings" films chosen to record a lot here that is pure fairy-tale landscape as we drive through.
hojarna i himelriket
Are we in himelriket, or?

You become happy in the whole body of the ride up on the roads here. Today when we went into the mountains down to the Bluff we could not describe in words how beautiful we thought that this was, we just smiled a bit silly to each other where we ran side by side.

queenstown
Queenstown ...
In Queenstown, we stopped and went with the cable car up the mountain where there was an incredible view over the town and Lake Wakatipu. It was almost like flying with it. We stopped for a moment in the glorious weather and just enjoyed the view of Queenstown.

High tide and low tide ...

After the visit at the "Second Lake", we drove down the coast again.

We had an incredible journey on a winding road between the small mountains and deep valleys, winding up so slowly. kullar
High mountains and deep valleys ...

We stopped at a rest area and ate lunch at a place so beautiful that it almost takes the air out of one. There were sandwiches with cheese and onions and water that we purified himself with the help of our water filters. vägen

We came down to the coast and then it was high tide. Once again, we set up tent less than 2 feet from the water, but this time at sea. The evening was warm and the water was like a mirror. You could see the fish hit the water a few meters from our tent out of the sharp edge.
camping vid sjön
We camp by the water but now it is by the sea ...

Snow who owned the campsite, was talkative and joking all the time and said that at eight o'clock in the evening he would play the accordion in the kitchen so when we get there.

Nyduschade and measured so we went to the kitchen to hear the camp host's accordion concert. He played a lot of fine old songs, from Elvis to Scottish folk tunes. He was shot in the fourth stage so he could be a lot of songs from Scotland. But it was the ladies who were already in the kitchen too, so they sang with the top of his lungs. A couple from Germany kept pace with spoons and pots and it became almost an entire small orchestra.

lagat dragspel
Kjell O with adhesive duct tape, and Snow played on ....

Tvågånger went to the accordion strap break, but eventually went out of Kjell motorcycle and picked sanding sponge and duct tape and held the belt since the rest of the evening. We had at least a fun evening and at mid-noon, we were able to re-crawl into our tent.

That night, however, was much warmer than the previous one and we did not feel cold at all.
lågvatten
Low tide
When we awoke in the morning the water was all gone and left only a low gyttjebotten in sight. Snow said that here on this coast, it is about 3 meters difference between high and low tide.
We tore down our tent, packed everything into place, and then we drove on to Auckland again.

Curves and golden triangles. ...

For once we are both on the photo .... Happy Birthday Kerstin.

1800 + 1800 = 3 600th Golden Triangle.

Tour time again, this time a round up to Pai in the mountains out of Burma. The Way teaches swing 1800 times on the way there and it is certainly true. It swung all the time and in the steep hills, it was sometimes difficult to get around if you had oncoming traffic while. snälla kurvor

On the way up was the little villages here and the markets were full and Russel. As soon as there is more than five Thais in a single place to see three of them to sell food so that everyone can eat. Really beautiful everywhere here in the mountains and above all cool and nice for us northerners. The poor residents however, felt that it was cold here and the fur of themselves in both down jackets, big hats and mittens, Brrrrrr. It was around 20-22 degrees, then warm.

For a while it was so curvy in the hills that I (Karin) almost became carsick to sit on the back of Kjell and shoot so I had to put the camera away for a while and concentrate on that ride a motorcycle instead.

But after all these 1800 curves, we finally come to an old village where there lived a very Chinese.
uppe p kinabyn
In the past when there were no roads up here i had the mountains settled here and sustained themselves on growing opium. For this is the heart of the Golden Triangle. Still, apparently grown a great deal of opium in these parts of it are hidden out there in the jungle.
We ate chinese food at a restaurant that was built in the old style, and it was served boiled grisben which was really tender and delicious.
Kong o grisaskånken

Then we drove back to Chiang Mai again, all these 1800 curves.

The night before we were on the invitation again. This time to another of the guys in the City Commander who has an HD shop and workshop in Chain Mai. But on the back of the workshop, he has also built up a restaurant in the old style. gameldags matmarknad1

gameldags matmarknad2
Another market positions in the restaurant ...
You had to walk around among the market stalls and picking of the different dishes that the old ladies in the market stalls to eat at an open fire. Really different and it felt almost as if it were moved back in time to a time that existed here in Thailand for a long time ago. Everything was timely. The old ladies in the stalls were dressed in clothes from that time and they cooked in the same way as it was then.
traditionell dans1
Dance show
He had also arranged a dance show and the old traditional music for this. It was really fun to see the 60 bikers who sit spellbound and listen to music from the Middle Ages and watch a dance performance from the same time with complex hand movements and dance steps. Like this can not happen in Sweden. Imagine yourself as a player spelmanslag old folk music and dance performance in costume with garters and all, on a motorbike hit in Sweden. Maybe something to think about the next summer. ...

But we are really grateful for everything good and nice as City Commander arranged for us. But now we must give them a moment to myself driving around northern Thailand in a week or so. After that, we return to Bangkok again to arrange the final paperwork before the shipment of motorcycles that can be nailed.

The traffic here in Vietnam is chaotic. Any attempt to run on everybody, at the same time. Even buses and trucks run on each other all the time and no one cares about that, running over solid lines and things like that. Very often it is dangerously close to traffic on the road. Everybody is honking and flashes the light all the time. If you do not want to be sick so you get help but watch the traffic and let the chauffeur take care of driving the bus.

When we arrived at Halong Bay, we jump on board a boat with cabins where we would sleep.

They came from Salt Lake City, Utah, but Barbara was working temporarily in Oman. Rebecca runs a thehouse in Salt Lake City and she has a web site on www.tea-grotto.com We had a quiet and relaxing evening together with no traffic, chiming and other noises. Kjell tried to fish a bit and he got even a small octopus.

It was nice to curl up in the hammock and be rocked to sleep to the sound of water lapping against the hull. In the distance you could hear music from another boat, otherwise it was quiet, still and dark in the Gulf.

The journey back to Hanoi, were just as chaotic as the trip to Halong Bay. But we managed to get back out alive. We have found a nice Irish Pub, The Irish Wolfhound. Here you can eat other than Vietnamese noodle soup and rice dishes. Good for a change. Above all, this is very nice.

We have been to the Thai embassy and applied for a long show with three entries into Thailand. It seemed not so easy to get this but they would see what they could do because we are running around with motorcycles in this region. They wanted proof that we drove a motorcycle so we had to fax papers on the motorbike from the hotel. We'll see if we get a long view, or if we only get 60 days. It dissolves in any way.

Now, our bikes come ... ..

As you know, we took the course at a time from Irkutsk to Vladivostok oc it be made motorcycles too. It's just that they took nogot longer to get them here. Fors, we were told that they would arrive on the 7th and then they came kandke the 8th The poor tagmaklaren have had us in the handset continuously since we arrived here herself to Vladivostok said yesterday, we were told that they would come today at 9:00.

So we were in his office at 9:00 but there were no bikes, of course. We had bikes before 11:00 today, we had already had a bat in South Korea today, but .... that we were not. At 15:00 came the truck and when it opened it was full of ... ... .. toilet paper. But luckily there were also motorcycles istoppade choice among all the toilet paper, saying you can say what you like about Russians, but they can transportsakra motorcycles. "Fuck," hi hi hi.

But as you have already gathered, we were not with the boat today and it gives us wait until the next bat walk on Saturday. But there is a small detail ... to ... our visa expires on Friday, hrmmm. So we do not yet know quite how to solve this but at the office to sit batbolaget one of their incredibly helpful Russians and she has already been in contact with the authorities to see how we can solve detta.Sa it will hopefully sort out. We do not think they want to keep us in all cases.

But v has taught us one thing to stay in Russia and it is that you can not take for granted nogonting said we dare not promise that we will with the ferry. Вуе щквтфк ышп тщп.

Vladivostok ...

Hey now, we agreed to Vladivostock by train from Irkutsk. We decided to take the train because the roads in this direction are so bad. It took three days with a time here and it was so boring. Much better to run itself. Be motorbikes arrive here on Monday and we have booked a ferry to Japan on Thursday.
We have rented an ordinary apartment with Matthias, a guy from Austria who we met in Irkutsk who also want to take the train to Vladivostock. He must drive back to Austria and he starts the trip on Monday when we receive the bikes. We are probably in at one of the city's hotel when Mattias leaving. I can not put any pictures today but it will when I have better internet.
