Stranden vid Ravai Beach….

Den första dagen efter att vi anlänt bara försvann med tvätt av kläder, tvätt av motorcyklar och så vidare. Det är skönt att vara här nere med hojarna. Nu kan vi pyssla om dem och laga, tvätta och göra allt det där som vi inte riktigt hunnit med att underhålla innan.

Vi har haft dem på service och bytt olja och stift men det är ju så mycket annat. Tillbucklade lådor måste rättas, ett och annat stag måste rättas ut efter vurpor. Karins ruta är spräckt och måste fixas till. Vi lämnade in bägge hojarna och fick dem tvättade och putsade och de blev ”nästan” som nya. Det kostade 450 Bath för bägge hojarna, ungefär 100 SEK.

Kjell i mekartagen…
Den andra dagen gick åt att kolla upp var vi kan bo under tiden vi skall vara här. Vi var o kollade på en lägenhet som Mr. Good har men vi tyckte att den låg lite för långt utanför och dessutom upp i några hiskeliga backar. Vi bestämde att vi nog blir i Lelles kvarter och utanför hans bostadsområde finns det flera hotell där vi kan bo för mellan 15 000 – 18 000 Bath för en hel månad. Dessutom gick nog priset att justera ytterligare, för detta var bara en första förfrågan. Allt är förhandlingsbart så länge de har rum som står tomma. Här uppe har de lite svårt att få hotellen fulla.

Kjells motor har ju tickat en tid och det blev inte bättre efter servicen. Så igår tog han av kåpan på den sidan där det tickade och kunde konstatera att det är en pinnbult som har lossnat. Antagligen har gängorna i motorblocket gått sönder. Vi fick fatt i en BMW verkstad här på Phatton och Kjell o Lelle har kört över motorcykeln till honom så att han kan fixa den.

Hi har hunnit med en invigning på ett ställe som heter Tre kronor. De hade nyöppning av sin nyrenoverade och uppfräschade restaurang och numera heter den ”Hells kitchen”.

Hotellkatten passade på att ligga bekvämt på min motorcykel när vi hade grillparty….
Vi har också varit på grillfest på Lelles bar och det blev en lyckad kväll med massor av god mat och trevliga människor.

Så det händer någonting hela tiden, i går körde vi runt här på ön och badade på en liten strand allra längst ned i söder som heter Ravai, i dag skall vi köra upp en bit längs med västkusten. Vi hade tänkt att vi skall köra upp till Khao Lak.

The first day after we arrived just disappeared with washing clothes, washing of motorcycles and so on. It’s good to be down here with the bikes. Now we can look over them and fix them, wash and do all the things that we have not really had time to do before. We have had them on service and changed oil and sparkpluggs but it’s so much more. Damages boxes must be corrected, and holders for the boxes must be fixed. Karin’s windows are cracked and needs to fix. We put both bikes to a carwash and got them washed and trimmed, and they became “almost” as new. It costs 450 Bath for two bikes, about 100 Swedish kroner.

The second day was spent checking out where we can stay in the meantime we will be here. We were checked in an apartment that Mr.. Good, but it was a bit too far outside and also in a few terrifying hills. We decided that we probably will stay in Lelles neighborhood and outside his residential area, there are several hotels where we can live for between 15 000 – 18 000 Bath for a whole month. In addition, the price was enough to adjust further, for this was just an initial inquiry. Everything is negotiable as long as they have rooms that are empty. Up here, they have little hard to get the hotels full.
Kjell’s engine has sound strange for a while and it was not better after service. So yesterday, he took off the cover on the side where it was ticking, and found that there is a stud that has come loose. Presumably, the threads in the engine block broke. We found a BMW shop here in Phatton and Kjell and Lelle ran over the motorcycle to him so he can fix it.

We have had time for a party at a place called Three Crowns. They had re-opening of its newly renovated and revamped restaurant and now called the “Hells Kitchen”. We have also been on the barbecue on Lelles bar and it was a successful evening with lots of good food and nice people.

Something is happen all the time, yesterday we drove around here on the island and stay to a small beach at the South called Ravai, today we will run up a bit along the West Coast. We think that we should run up to Khao Lak and look.
