Just nu är vi tillbaka i Nah Trang igen, på samma hotell som innan, och samma rum.

Receptionisten blev i allafall glad åt att se oss igen…
Innan idag åkte vi ut till flygplatsen för att flyga till Ho Chi Minh, men så blev det inte. Alla flygningar från den här flygplatsen var inställda på grund av för hårda vindar. Så vi fick åka tillbaka till Nah Trang och ställa oss i kö på Vietnam Airlines kontor för att boka om våra biljetter.

När vi körde ut till flygplatsen så var vägarna översvämmade och folk vadade omkring i vatten upp till knäna. Bilar och mopeder körde i vattenpölarna så att det stänkte kaskader om dem. Enligt en rapport som vi hörde har det regnat nästan 300 mm idag och varit vindar på 35 sekundmeter i medel. Det har rapporterats att 11 människor dött här i Vietnam till följd av vädret.

Men skam den som ger sig, vi fick bokat om vår biljett så i morgon bitti gör vi ett nytt försök att komma härifrån. Men nu får vi hoppa över Ho Chi Minh staden och vi försöker oss på att åka direkt till Hanoi i stället.
Om det inte fungerar att flyga i morgon bitti så blir det nog så att vi får boka om biljetten till Thailand också, för då lär vi inte hinna upp till Hanoi i tid. Men optimister som vi är så tror vi på att vi kommer iväg i morgon bitti…

Right now we are back in Nah Trang again, at the same hotel as before, and the same room. Earlier today we went out to the airport to fly to Ho Chi Minh, but we could not go. All flights from this airport were canceled because of strong winds. So we had to go back to Nah Trang and queue on the Vietnam Airlines office to rebook our tickets.

When we drove out to the airport the roads were flooded and people waded around in water up to their knees. Cars and scooters drove into water pools and it splashed cascades around them. According to a report we heard, it has rained almost 300 mm today, and winds were at 35 meters per second in the medium. It has been reported that 11 people died here in Vietnam due to the weather.

But we don’t give up, we have rebooked our tickets so tomorrow morning we make a new attempt to get out of here. But now we skip the Ho Chi Minh City and we are trying to go directly to Hanoi instead.
If we do not work out to fly tomorrow morning we have to rebook the ticket to Thailand too, because when we never catch up to Hanoi in time. But optimists as we are, we believed that we will leave tomorrow morning…

Lite om vad det kostar.

Vietnam… är lite billigare än hemma.

En taxiresa från flygplatsen i Hanoi in till Hanois gamla stad kostade oss 7 USD (ca 50: -) Det tog nästan 2 timmar att åka den här biten för det var mitt i rusningstrafiken.
I Hanoi bodde vi mitt i gamla sta´n på ett vandrarhem som var hel ok. Allting är ju lite dyrare i de stora städerna och det här rummet, med dusch o toalett, minibar, wifi på rummet och en stor bekväm dubbelsäng kostade 28 USD/natt, dyrt. (200: -/natt)

I gamla sta´n kan man sitta på små uteserveringar på gatan på låga små plast stolar. Här kan man köpa öl direkt från en rostfri tunna. Inte världens godaste öl, men den går att dricka o den släcker törsten i värmen. Ett sådant glas kostar 3 000 VND (ca 1.20 SKR) Vill man ha en flasköl får man upp med 15 000 VND (ca 6: -)

Vi var på en utflykt till Halong Bay, bussresa fram och tillbaka, mat i 2 dagar, inträde i grottan, övernattning på båten, m.m. Detta kostade oss 63 USD/man. (450: -) En riktig turistgrej och visst kostar det då. Men jag tyckte att vi fick en del för pengarna ändå.

Bussresan från Danang till Nah Trang kostade 20 USD/ man. (ca 145: -)

Vårt hotell i Nah Trang gick på 12 USD/ natt (d.v.s. omkring 85: -)

Vi var ute och käkade igår på en Indisk restaurang, jag år en risrätt och drack en öl till, Kjell åt Indiska köttbullar, ris, bröd och öl. Det är lite dyrare att käka på de Indiska restaurangerna så vi åt “dyrt”. Det kostade 175 000 VND (ca 70: -)

Vill man äta lite enklare så kostar en nudelrätt eller en nudelsoppa runt 15 000 – 25 000 (6 – 10: – så man kan leva väldigt billigt här om man vill.

A little about what it costs.

A taxi ride from the airport in Hanoi to the Hanoi old town cost us $ 7 (50 SKR) It took almost 2 hours to ride this trip because it was in the middle of rush hour traffic. In Hanoi we stayed in the middle of the old town in a hostel which was ok. Things are a bit more expensive in the big cities and this room, whit shower and toilet, mini bar, wifi in the room and a large comfortable double bed costing $ 28 per night, expensive. (SEK 200 per night)
In the old town you can sit on the small terraces on the street at low small plastic chairs. Here you can buy beer directly from a stainless steel barrel. Not the world’s best beers, but it is ok to drink and take away the thirst in the heat. Such a glass costs 3 000 VND (approximately 1:20 SKR) Do you have a bottled beer may be up to 15 000 VND (about 6 SKR)

We were out yesterday and ate at an Indian restaurant, I had a rice dish and I had beer, Kjell had Indian meatballs, rice, bread and beer. It is a bit expensive to eat at the Indian restaurant so we ate “expensive”. It cost 175 000 VND (about 70 SKR)
Would you eat a little cheaper you can have a noodle dish or noodle soup for around 15 000 – 25 000 (6 to 10 SKR)

So you can live very cheaply here if you want.
